Fandom Freaks: Poonies Part 2

The first drawing was a way to play with a theory of mine that the worst fans of the Poony show (or the worst fans of anything, really) are incredibly insecure and emotionally frail and can't stand even the slightest criticism and are essentially hostile little babies with severe ego problems.

And since I knew their weakness, all I had to do was exploit it and push the right buttons. I knew how to purposely keep things "vague" in the first drawing and when/if you actually stop and think about it, the tricks seem very obvious. I never said anyone had to only watch older cartoons (you'd think my Venture Brothers icon would imply that), I definitely never said all fans of the show behaved like the psycho-bitch, I never even said I didn't like the fans, but I purposely omitted things to see which ones jumped to conclusions and focused only on arrogant assumptions.

It was a dirty trick, and I had fun doing it! I have no problem poking fun at people who are stupid enough to bring it upon themselves. I did get some calmer, more rational people, although I wish there were more of them. But predictably I got a lot of insecure children who just couldn't figure out a joke and couldn't spot an obvious trap.

I don't really like "explaining" a joke, it takes the fun out of it, but here, the explanation is itself a second joke. I may not always make a point and beat someone over the head with it, but I'll shove it down your throat if you have it coming.

side note: Normally I would make fun of people who seem very, very intense about making others aware that "the assholes aren't the majority of the fans and we aren't all like that", but I can't really blame those people for doing what they do, seeing as the "bad fans" of this show are exceptionally irritating and hostile people (because that's "Love & Tolerance", right?), so I give them a little break. But still, it does say something about the fans of the show when a good chunk of them are so bad, that other fans split apart into other groups or factions just to distance themselves apart from the others.
