Chaotic Silent Hill, up-left

The original drawing is bigger than my scanner, so I decided to break it into 4 segments. Good thing too, because I needed to make the images really big to show all the tiny details. I purposely made it sloppy, sketchy and extremely chaotic to reflect the Silent Hill feel, as well as add my own touch of insanity to the mix. I also wanted to make parts of it feel like the journals and notes you find throughout the games (and some parts of the drawing even reference those things)

I started this as a Halloween thing last year shortly after I played Silent Hill 4: The Room (SH is of course one of my absolute favorite game series of all time) and just kept adding more and more to it and finally finished it after SO many delays, distractions and even a few broken pen nibs.

It's really hard to see what's going on in the drawing, which was actually my intention, but these are some things shown that are either inspired by Silent Hill features, or directly modeled after parts of the games:

The Silent Hill title (of course), some words under the title like "Nowhere" and "Otherside", the body with "01121" on it (it's actually a spoiler, so I won't explain it), Lyrics to the SH 4 song "Room of Angel", the "I feel like I'm Dying" quote, the toilet (Gotta have a creepy toilet for SH!), the evil nurses on top, and the body on the fence (partially shown).

Oh, Konami, bless you for making this Disturbingly Beautiful game for me to enjoy! Who needs sanity when you can retreat to the Town of Silent Hill? And while I'm at it, thanks for the years of insomnia!
